In a world dictated by the convergence of cultures and by the blurring of geographical borders, the BAES Gazette embodies the perspective of international students, who decided to actively participate in the understanding of their surroundings. From Politics, Economics, Sports, Art and Culture and beyond, the students of the Bachelor in European Studies have decided to present the BAES Gazette, an online, dynamic and insightful newspaper entirely redacted for and by students.
The Goal of the editorial board is to provide the readers with unparalleled insights into current pressing issues, starting from the idea of linking the subject studied with the passion of writing. Our intent with the BAES Gazette is to give a testament to the power of diverse voices coming together to explain the multifaceted world we live in.
At the heart of the project, there is the belief that unique and invaluable insights could be provided by international students, who with their experiences are the most suitable to discuss and present topics that affect our living and the dynamics behind it.

The structure of the Newspaper is non-hierarchical and each member has the total freedom on what to write and how, this is why in the numerous publications you will witness a wide range of topics and columns that will be written and updated by our journalists. The aim is to give our monthly readers a holistic understanding of what is happening around them in the world. Therefore, the stories in which you will be engaged are going from the macro (IR, politics and economics, for example) to the micro (student experiences in our campuses, suggestions of trips, books, local events), you name it!
Moreover, at the foundation of this project, there is the desire of students from a brand new bachelor course to come together and find their own way of being resourceful and helpful to create a sense of community and unity in a European Joint Degree, in which students are disseminated all over Europe. In this sense, the BAES Gazette represents the first association of students with the same Bachelor, in which students are taking different study paths according to their choices in major and minor.
It is fair to say that the Gazette is still a work in progress and the first publication you are currently reading is the fruit of the first meetings of the founders, editors and journalists. The first number would like to take into account what happened during the summer, not only regarding international politics, on which we have a great deal of articles but also Economics, Media and Culture, Sport and our dear BAES Students. These will be in fact the fixed sections and more will be added in the course of the future numbers.
We would like to welcome you in the journey we are embarking on with the BAES Gazette and take on board every student who is interested in our project, as a reader and eventually as a writer. Feel free to contact anyone from the redaction if you are interested in actively taking part in the newspaper or just to drop suggestions and feedback. We are always open for new BAES journalists!
The vision the current team has for the future of the Gazette is now taking shape. We are all united in the values of acceptance, open mind and curiosity towards the challenges that the time to come reserves for us and, if you are too, I may welcome you to the newly founded community of the BAES Gazette!
